XenServer 5.6 dns search list

Had to mess around to add a DNS search suffix onto my XenServer 5.6 hosts before I could add them into a pool. I’m fairly sure I didn’t have to do this with 5.5, as are various people on the Citrix forums.
The “messing around” is not actually too troublesome, but is nonetheless annoying as it wasn’t necessary before.
Go to the console (command prompt) of the XenServer 5.6 host that’s currently not in a pool and issue the following:
xe pif-list management=true
Then take the first UUID listed and plug into this command:
xe pif-param-set uuid=xxxxx

You can obviously just use one search domain, or as many as you like, comma separated as above.
Then issue:
And once the host has restarted you’ll be able to add it to the pool with no problems.
